Maktoub - Impact production

An impact production combining a short film with screenings, talks, and trainings to break the taboo around domestic violence in migrant families and open dialogue.

Goal

Our goal is to reduce the stigma around domestic violence. Screenings are accompanied by guided conversations, classroom work and professional trainings, so that the emotions evoked by the film can grow into dialogue and concrete awareness. In this way, Maktoub creates safe spaces where young people and professionals feel able to speak openly and strengthens the capacity to recognize early warning signs.

Target audience(s)

1. Secondary school students (12–18 years old). 2. Migrant communities (youth and adults). 3. Professionals in education, youth care and child protection. 4. Culturally engaged public (all ages)

Main activities

1. Produce and release the short film Maktoub. 2. Organize school screenings with talks and assignments. 3. Collaborate with LVAK and RINO Groep to integrate the film into professional training. 4. Partner with NGOs and local organizations to broaden reach and organize screening/talks. 5. Submit to international festivals to expand dialogue.
